Finding the Best Banner

We’re always expanding our ranges to make sure you get what you need, but how do you know what that is? Well, the experts are here with some simple advice to help you make the right choice.

When choosing a banner (a.k.a. scrim, netting, or sheeting) there’s a few things to consider – most importantly purpose and placement. Though they’re all designed with safety and practicality in mind, each have their own perks too; the mesh banners allow more air to pass through - reducing wind loading and allowing it to be placed in a wide variety of positions – while the solid banners have a robust, impermeable face - giving a clear, vibrant print which can then be completed with more finishing options than other banners.

Debris Netting

Debris Netting Eyelets

Debris Netting is durable, heavy-duty plastic netting, mostly used on scaffolding to protect personnel and the public from falling debris (though you also see it used as garden netting). The looser mesh allows plenty of air circulation while still reducing weather penetration, creating a safer working environment; especially for those working at height. This also makes the banner more pliable and lightweight, so it’s harder to tear and easier to apply.

Scaffold Sheeting

Scaffold Sheeting is made of tough, weather resistant polyethylene, reinforced with a weave for extra strength and durability. The solid face means it blocks wind and rain from disrupting personnel while still permitting the transmission of natural light, which will not only make a safer working environment but could shield the public too. This does however mean strong winds could catch the banner creating a ‘sail effect’, so it’s recommended for projects that are low-rise or won’t be exposed to high winds.

Supplied as a 2x45m roll - 150gsm for standard / 175gsm for fire rated

Printed Debris Netting

Printed Debris Netting offers an easy and affordable way to brand your site, while also receiving the safety benefits of protective sheeting. Just like our standard Debris Netting the bigger holes allow plenty of airflow while providing weather protection for workers, but this option has the additional perks of obscuring the site and promoting your brand (which can help build intrigue for the project).

Mesh Banner Wrap

Mesh Banner Wraps are made from closely woven PES (or polyester) mesh, which makes this banner very resilient and resistant to fraying – removing the need for hems or eyelets (just push cable ties through the holes). The small openings will still allow airflow while protecting personnel and the public, though not as much as the netting so this banner is recommended for ground level installation only. This does mean the face is less punctured though, so your artwork will be clearer and with full colour custom print this could be anything you like.

PVC Banner

PVC banner eyelet  PVC banner pocket

PVC Banners are made from an industry standard banner-grade plastic (suitable for in and outdoor use) with a smooth solid surface that provides a long lasting, vibrant print. Though that means these banners cannot be placed in high wind areas, it does make them very strong and more adaptable to visual or creative applications, whether it’s promoting a project or event, or sharing a safety message with employees. It’s for these reasons that most of our standard safety banners are on this material, as well as our scaffold banners (which have special pole pockets so they slide on to scaffolding) and new custom banner options for when you need something unique.

Site Fencing Banner

Fence banner

Fence banner holes  Fence banner eyelet

Site Fencing Banners are made from a strong PVC mesh whose small holes allow some airflow (though they are recommended for use on stabilised fence panels) while still obscuring the view to the other side, offering privacy and protection. This - combined with the quality print of your logo - makes these banners perfect for use at events or construction sites to help increase brand visibility. Both sizes are tailored to easily fix to fencing, with the larger designed for Heras fence panels specifically.

Airmesh Fence Covers are made from reliable polyester fabric with holes fashioned to increase airflow while still partially concealing the view, and a quality print of your custom logo or artwork. Tailored to conveniently attach to Heras fence panels, these covers are lightweight and machine washable so they’re easy to use over and over, which is better for your budget and the environment. If you’re looking to publicise yourself at multiple sites or events, then this is the banner for you.
